Clare and Home

On our way to Clare we stopped at Burra. Burra is an old mining town with many remnants of its mining past still present. We stayed out the back of the Bon Accord hotel – free if you put some money over the bar. Had a nice meal at the hotel, a few drinks and entertained ourselves with the pianola. Over 800 scrolls to choose from!

And then we were off to Clare.

Unfortunately, the day after we arrived we received a call that Jude’s Dad was in hospital after having had a stroke. So, we had a quick pack up and then high-tailed it back to Batemans Bay. Thankfully he’s doing well and should be home soon.

And that was the end of our trip – 24,000 kilometres and six months on the road. We enjoyed every moment of it and have some great memories of travelling with friends, having Nathaniel join us in Darwin, meeting new people and catching up with old friends.

So now it must be time to start planning for our next one.
